Sir William Luscombe Munday (1865-1952), lawyer, Vice-President, later Deputy President, of the University College of the South West, was the son of Richard and Susan Munday. He was born in 1865 and educated at Kelly College, Tavistock. He qualified as a solicitor in 1887, and was from 1898 (to 1930) a member of Plymouth Town Council, becoming an alderman in 1911.
